Job Description

The Systems Engineer will develop and define system requirements, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and software components integrate seamlessly to deliver innovative products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will lead the design process from concept to production, optimising performance and compliance with industry standards.

• Utilise and demonstrate expertise in systems engineering to establish requirements, formal structure definitions, and functional behaviour for mechanical, hardware, and software systems, forming a foundation for future product development.
• Develop reusable modules and interfaces to support system architectures and roadmaps.
• Implement best practices for robust product development by writing and tracing requirements, measuring performance, and guiding verification and validation (V&V) efforts in design validation.
• Create design documentation that reflects critical analysis of design trade-offs concerning cost, consumer benefits, performance, and modular reuse.
• Manage the lifecycle of architected subsystems and components to ensure the portfolio of solutions meets the company\'s current and future needs.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, quality, and procurement teams to deliver optimised component and subsystem solutions from concept to production.
• Work closely with consumer experience and product marketing teams to identify key consumer needs and translate them into specifications that drive essential performance requirements.
• Partner with compliance engineers to ensure product architectures adhere to evolving agency requirements.
• Provide expertise and guidance for quality improvement and cost reduction projects, ensuring proper engineering practices are followed.
• The position requires a solid foundation in engineering fundamentals, along with strong verbal and written communication, organisational, and project management skills.
• Experience in failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) or risk analysis is preferred.
• Track project progress and publish status reports for initiatives led by the systems engineer.
• Promote the advancement of model-based systems engineering throughout the organisation.
• Support the integration of systems engineering into the product development process.

• A bachelor\'s degree in engineering is required; a master\'s degree in engineering, technology management, or business management is preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Concentration in engineering and product development is essential, with experience in lean product development environments considered a plus.
• 2-3 years of relevant technical experience in product engineering is required.
• Demonstrated cross-functional abilities in guiding and executing mechanical and electrical design methodologies, testing, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Certification in systems engineering, such as INCOSE ASEP or equivalent experience in defining systems using systems engineering principles and processes.
• Six Sigma certification (Green or Yellow Belt) with significant experience in structured problem-solving, experimental design, and process improvement.
• Experience in the design and manufacture of fluid or air-moving products; familiarity with floor care product subsystems is an advantage.
• Proficiency in systems modeling using standard tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Simscape, Dymola, or Modelica.
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), and other simulation tools.
• Proven technical development experience with an international brand, preferably in consumer products.
• Strong action-oriented mindset with a history of delivering results.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster innovation and achieve results.
• Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools, 3D modeling, and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Proficient in SysML modeling language.
