Job Description

The Table Tennis Coach is responsible for planning, delivering, and overseeing high-quality table tennis training programmes for students across various age groups and competency levels. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, a commitment to student development, and the ability to uphold a positive, disciplined, and inclusive training environment in alignment with the school's philosophy and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute structured, progressive table tennis training programmes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Instruct students in the technical and tactical aspects of table tennis, including grip, strokes, footwork, spin control, service techniques, and match strategies. Evaluate and track student performance, providing constructive feedback and individualized improvement plans. Prepare students for internal and external tournaments, including coordination, training cycles, and performance readiness. Cultivate a professional, respectful, and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and continuous growth. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain vigilant supervision during training sessions, practices, and competitions. Manage the condition, setup, and inventory of table tennis equipment and related facilities. Collaborate with academic staff, parents, and the wider school community to strengthen the visibility and impact of the table tennis programme. Adhere to the school's values, policies, and code of conduct at all times. Stay informed on current coaching methodologies, competition rules, and developments in sports science relevant to table tennis.

Qualifications

Minimum SPM or equivalent academic qualification. Someone who can teach physical education will be prioritised Professional certification in table tennis coaching from a recognised sports association is preferred. Demonstrated experience coaching table tennis at the school, academy, club, or competitive youth level. Strong knowledge of technical, tactical, and developmental aspects of table tennis training. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational capabilities. Proven ability to motivate, support, and inspire students to achieve their fullest potential.
