Job Description

Taking Measurements:

Accurately measuring clients for custom clothing or alterations.

Pattern Making & Cutting:

Creating patterns and cutting fabric according to specifications.

Sewing:

Assembling garments using a range of techniques, including hand-stitching and machine sewing.

Altering & Repairing:

Modifying existing garments (e.g., shortening sleeves, taking in seams) or repairing damaged items.

Consulting with Clients:

Discussing design preferences, fabric choices, and making necessary adjustments.

Maintaining a Work Area:

Keeping the workspace clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.

Following Instructions:

Strictly adhering to customer instructions and guidelines.

Problem-Solving:

Addressing fitting issues, fabric constraints, and construction challenges.

Collaboration:

Working with designers, pattern makers, and other team members.

Keeping Up with Trends:

Staying informed about current fashion trends and techniques.

Customer Satisfaction:

Ensuring clients are happy with the final product.

Mentorship (Senior Tailors):

Guiding junior staff and fostering a culture of learning.
Skills and Qualities:

Sewing Skills:

Proficiency in various sewing techniques, including hand and machine sewing.

Understanding different fabrics and their properties.
