Handle the detailed calculation of both personal and corporate taxes to guarantee the accurate and timely lodging of tax returns.
Coordinate with tax agents to guarantee strict adherence to the Malaysian Income Tax Act and related legislation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and global tax legislation.
2. Tax Estimates & Payments
Help prepare tax estimations, process necessary amendments, and ensure the management of monthly tax installments.
Responsible for processing tax payments and refunds, and communicating with the LHDN to ensure timely resolution of any tax-related problems.
3. Withholding Tax
Handle the entire process of WHT: accurate computation, documentation, and timely filing.
4. Tax Records & Reporting
Maintain meticulously organized tax records and supporting documentation to satisfy all audit and internal requirements.
Maintain all documentation systematically to ensure compliance and facilitate preparation for all audits.
5. General Accounting & Financial Support
Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
Contribute to the company's financial health by assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Ensure complete adherence to all financial regulations, standards, and internal control policies.
6. Audit & Reporting
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing all auditor inquiries.
Handle all client and stakeholder inquiries with professionalism, speed, and efficiency.
7. Ad-Hoc Support & Research
Contribute to special projects and conduct tax-related research as required by management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax and financial matters to improve efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
Professional Certificate, ACCA, CPA, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
Knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and general accounting practices.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience required; candidates with 2+ years of experience may be considered for a senior-level role.
At least 1 year experience with UBS system or autocount.
Ability to speak Mandarin/Chinese will be considered an added advantage due to the nature of client interactions.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in accounting software is a plus.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
