Manage the detailed computation of personal and corporate taxes to ensure the accurate and timely submission of tax returns.
Liaise with tax agents to ensure strict compliance with the Malaysian Income Tax Act and related legislation.
Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of local and global tax laws.
2. Tax Estimates & Payments
Assist in preparing tax estimations, processing required amendments, and managing monthly tax installment.
Manage tax payments and refunds, and liaise with the LHDN to ensure the timely resolution of tax-related issues.
3. Withholding Tax
Manage the full WHT lifecycle, including accurate computation, documentation, and punctual filing.
4. Tax Records & Reporting
Ensure all tax records and supporting documentation are meticulously organized to meet audit and internal requirements.
Systematically maintain all documentation to ensure compliance and streamline audit preparation.
5. General Accounting & Financial Support
Responsible for full-cycle accounting, covering Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to contribute to the company's financial health.
Guarantee full compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and internal control policies.
6. Audit & Reporting
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing all auditor inquiries.
Handle all client and stakeholder inquiries with professionalism, speed, and efficiency.
7. Ad-Hoc Support & Research
Contribute to special projects and conduct tax-related research as required by management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax and financial matters to improve efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
Professional Certificate, ACCA, CPA, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
Knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and general accounting practices.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience required; candidates with 2+ years of experience may be considered for a senior-level role.
At least 1 year experience with UBS system or autocount.
Ability to speak Mandarin/Chinese will be considered an added advantage due to the nature of client interactions.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in accounting software is a plus.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
