A Snapshot of Your Day
As a team member of Siemens Energy {"SE"} Asia Tax Services Centre (ATC) in Malaysia, you will be assigned with a set of tax support activities which will tap into your level of tax competencies and skillsets. Our tax support extends throughout APAC region and Europe. To thrive in a dynamic and agile working environment, you are prepared to embrace changes in your scope of work from time to time. In the course of your work, you collaborate closely with the global tax community, accounting and controlling team and business community. You also work with the external tax consultants and liaise with the tax authorities as and when required. In your daily engagement with the respective stakeholders, you identify new opportunities to which ATC can extend further support which will achieve greater efficiency in the organization.
How You'll Make an Impact
Siemens Energy ("SE") Asia Tax Services Centre (ATC) in Malaysia supports the global tax functions within Siemens Energy Group, this includes both the headquarter in Germany which handles tax governance and the local tax teams, predominantly in APAC and European regions, who are entrusted with the responsibilities to manage the direct and indirect tax compliance works, tax advisory, etc in the respective countries. ATC supports both global and local tax functions as needed, depending on the availability of the required competency and skillsets.
We are currently seeking a Tax Specialist to support a variety of compliance tasks, including European VAT, and project advisory. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a good understanding of tax compliance processes. The successful candidate will work closely with our in-house tax teams and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and reporting where required.
Your key responsibilities include:

• Provide ad hoc tax advisory support to internal businesses.
• Support the day-to-day tax compliance and tax reporting matters for the assigned SE entities which include the following:

? Indirect Tax returns: VAT; withholding taxes
? Support with enquiries and requests from tax authorities
? Supports adhoc tax projects when required (e.g. new tax implementation, changes in tax rules, etc)
? Other tax matters

• Working collaboratively as part of an international tax team and local Malaysian ATC team

What You Bring

• A recognized degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Tax field
• Good knowledge of international tax laws and regulations. Working experience in indirect tax, preferably with exposure to European VAT compliance will be advantageous.
• Ideally, 3-5 years of experience in the handling of foreign tax compliance work.
• Good English language proficiency, both verbal and written
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong numerical and data analytical skills with high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
