A Snapshot of Your Day

As a tax specialist in ASEAN PACIFIC (ASP) tax hub in Malaysia, you will be assigned with a portfolio of Siemens Energy\'s entities within ASP region where you will be responsible for its day-to-day tax compliance and tax reporting work. In the course of performing your duties, you will liaise with colleagues from various functions (e.g. accounting & controlling team, business units finance personnel, Siemens Energy Group Tax Community), external tax consultants and local tax authorities.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

• As a start, you will handle tax and customs compliance matters for one Malaysia entity which includes, but not limited to, the following tasks:

\xc3\x98 Monthly tax accounting (corporate income tax & deferred tax provision)

\xc3\x98 Corporate income tax computation and return (includes tax filing in India)

\xc3\x98 Withholding tax filings

\xc3\x98 Service tax return

\xc3\x98 Transfer pricing documentation data preparation

\xc3\x98 Tax-related journal voucher postings, tax payments and tax accounts reconciliation.

\xc3\x98 Customs operational support (e.g. application for sales tax exemption certificate, temporary import/export, ATA Carnet shipment, customs broker management, etc)

\xc3\x98 Internal tax and customs reporting

\xc3\x98 Manage tax and customs audit

\xc3\x98 Attend to any enquiries and requests from external tax authorities (IRBM, RMCD)

\xc3\x98 Support on adhoc tax projects when required (e.g. new tax implementation, changes in tax rules, etc)

\xc3\x98 Provides simple tax and customs advisory to internal stakeholders

\xc3\x98 Provides tax and customs training to internal stakeholders

• From time to time, you will also extend your support to other Siemens Energy\'s entities in the ASEAN PACIFIC region (e.g. tax compliance, tax audit, tax projects, etc) when required.

What You Bring

• A recognized Degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Tax

• Minimum of 5 years working experience in in-house tax department / tax shared services of MNCs or Big4/mid-size accounting firm

• Working experience in Malaysian direct and indirect tax compliance is required.

• Malaysian customs operational experience and/or knowledge in tax compliance in other countries in ASEAN PACIFIC region will be added advantages.

• Preferably experience working in SAP system.

• Good English language proficiency, both verbal and written

• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Strong numerical and data analytical skills with high level of accuracy

• Ability to work to multiple deadlines and complete task efficiently and accurately

• Ability to work independently on the given portfolio in a supportive environment.
