The Tax Specialist will support and manage the indirect tax activities for the Corporate Tax organisation, in general, support efforts to ensure that our company is compliant with all indirect tax laws, all filings are accurate and correct, all processes are documented, and all Indirect Tax matters are resolved timely; also, monitor tax process and systems to ensure that that they are efficient, accurate, up to date and comply with current regulatory requirements.

This position requires demonstrated Indirect Tax knowledge, analytical abilities, and communication skills, and will be responsible for assisting in various facets of the Indirect Tax process, including review of master data, transactional inputs, system design, and controls.

Primary Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Working with a first-class outsourced provider, managing, preparing, and reviewing Indirect Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions globally;
  • Work closely with the internal shared services operation to ensure that Indirect Tax requirements are met and manage all associated risks;
  • Assist the Indirect Tax Compliance Regional Leads in the development and monitoring of KPIs of the VAT processes and performance of the company;
  • Actively manage tax processes and systems to ensure that they are efficient, accurate, up to date, and comply with current regulatory requirements;
  • Continuously identify and implement opportunities through initiating continuous improvement projects;
  • Keep abreast of changes to Indirect Tax legislation and how they impact the company;
  • Share knowledge within the team and assist in achieving team objectives;
  • Offer a constructive, proactive approach to the various challenges that can be associated with indirect Tax compliance in a changing business environment.
Education Minimum Requirement:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax function related to indirect taxes
  • Fluent English required and other languages an advantage;
  • Experience working in an organization providing services across multiple markets or geographies
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive work ethic
  • Ability to work independently, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Technical Skills Requirements:
  • Ability to support Tax research and investigation
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Experience with tax determination systems (e.g., OneSource, Vertex)
  • SAP experience desired
  • Ability to work independently and support a Tax team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and professional development
  • Ability to operate independently and navigate through change or uncertainty
  • Team player with a focus on collaboration
  • Solid communication, interpersonal, and organization skills required
