Team Leader - Accounts Receivable (Global Business Services)

The successful incumbent will be reporting to the Senior Team Leader, Credits & Accounts Receivable in the Global Business Services Operations Site in Kuala Lumpur.

Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities:

• Assist Team Leader to lead AR team to achieve cash application service objectives.
• Function as the expert Cash Application processes and related systems. Collaborate with work streams during process enhancements, acquisitions/divestitures and major system implementations. Ensure that functional issues are appropriately prioritized and resolved.
• Understand and be able to provide advice and guidance on internal control and business requirements, specifically as they relate to Cash Application.
• Lead and nurture the team and support work-life balance practices, career development and performance management.
• Engage with monthly business review with respective countries stakeholders
• Responsible in handling daily processing of sales and remittance advice data, and ensure timeliness and accurate processing.
• Maintain accurate and timely records ensuring all cash receipts is applied to customer ledger
• Management of data in strict adherence to internal control procedures are critical to effective credit control and collection of debts.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting and professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc)
• 5 to 7 years financial accounting exposure to Corporate Business, including 3 years in a senior accounting/finance position in a Multi-National Company
• Strong experience in SAP
• Thorough understanding of US and International Accounting Standards
• Sound analytical skills required to resolve accounting issues
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills necessary to maintain a strong working relationship with senior management and other functions within KC
• Practical knowledge of local and U.S. accounting requirements
• Good command of verbal and written English. Good command of any other Asian language would be an advantage.
• Good command of Mandarin would be an added advantage
• Team leadership experience would be an advantage
