is responsible for supervising daily operations of the grocery section, ensuring that merchandise is well-stocked, properly displayed, and maintained to the highest standards. The role involves managing a team of sales associates, achieving sales and margin targets, maintaining inventory accuracy, and delivering outstanding customer service in alignment with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:1. Operations Management
Oversee daily operations of the grocery department, including replenishment, merchandising, and housekeeping.
Ensure planograms, promotional displays, and product placements are implemented accurately and on time.
Monitor expiry dates, stock rotation, and product freshness to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of shelves, aisles, and storage areas.
2. Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, train, and motivate grocery associates to meet performance and productivity goals.
Prepare daily work schedules and assign tasks to team members.
Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training needs.
Foster a positive team environment with strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
3. Inventory & Stock Control
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams for replenishment.
Conduct regular stock counts and investigate variances.
Minimize shrinkage, wastage, and stock losses through effective control measures.
Ensure accurate pricing and proper labeling of all items.
4. Sales & Customer Service
Support the department in achieving sales, profit, and margin targets.
Analyze sales trends and identify opportunities to improve category performance.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
Promote cross-selling and upselling within the department.
5. Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to company policies, health and safety standards, and hygiene regulations.
Ensure compliance with all local food safety and quality control laws.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum
3-4 years of experience
in a retail grocery or supermarket environment, with at least
1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role
.
Strong knowledge of grocery products, merchandising standards, and retail operations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in POS systems and inventory management software.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,400.00 per month
