Team Leader - Purchasing Performance and Market Intelligence AP

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Solid-line Reporting: Head of Strategy & Market Intelligence AP
Functional Reporting: Global Head of Market Intelligence AP

Goal of Position:

• Get insight into material market trends to achieve a strategic advantage in the manufacturing market.
• Development, optimization, enhancement of new/existing processes and tools to lift further potentials in efficiency and/or cost reductions
• Regional expert and key contact to controlling for Purchasing Team
• Prepare one source of truth for Purchasing Performance including what strategic KPIs should be measured as a benchmark organization

Job Responsibilities:

• Design of the structure of the market intelligence function within the purchasing organization
• Key Contact Point to controlling representing purchasing concerning material price deviations
• Analysis of market data providers regarding data and forecast models
• Procurement, analysis, and processing of purchasing-relevant market data
• Creation of reports and management presentations and presentations of these to purchasing management
• Direct coordination and communication with all relevant stakeholders of the global purchasing organization
• Governance Process:
• Development of the Purchasing Academy, Organization of Trainings, Reporting Support the regional/subregional Purchasing Organization by coordinating or leading special projects (PMO)
• Support Regional Purchasing Asia Pacific and Global Purchasing Roadmap by supporting individual Projects or leading assigned projects
• Implementation of new/optimizations of process- or system improvements
• Train the purchasing organization and related departments for all purchasing related system and process issues
• Execute Data maintenance in purchasing systems (individual or mass updates)
• Consult AP/Subregional/Country Purchasing Management on process and system matters and changes/updates

Your Professional Profile Should Include:

• University degree in Economics/Business Administration or Finance/Controlling or equivalent. Master
• Degree is a plus.
• Several years of professional experience in the fields of market research, market analysis, statistical data analysis or similar
• Excellent with standard tools like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power-Point, Power BI and SAP
• Experience within a network organization
• High proficiency in verbally and written Communicating skills on an international basis
• High ability and willingness to approach other persons and cultures in an unbiased and open manner and to work with their opinions and expectations.
• Good interpersonal skills (curious, open minded, agility to engage people)
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Independent working style
• Strategic thinking
• Understand easily complex business matters
• Ability to deliver results under pressure
