Job SummaryThe Technical Associate will support MRANTI initiatives and the growth of DroneTech companies within the ecosystem. In this role, they will assist, facilitate, and potentially lead the development, deployment, and commercialization of innovative drone technology solutions. These solutions aim to deliver value to customers, advance the company\'s strategic objectives, and position the organisation as a leader in Malaysia\'s drone industry. Additionally, the Technical Associate will be involved in all aspects of drone technology development, implementation, and utilisation, ensuring the successful advancement of DroneTech initiatives.Job ResponsibilitiesTechnology Strategy Development

  • To assist, facilitate, support in development and execution a comprehensive technology strategy for the DroneTech department in alignment with the company\'s overall objectives. This includes identifying areas of innovation, setting technology goals, and establishing a roadmap for achieving them.
Research and Development (R&D)
  • To assist, facilitate, support R&D efforts to explore new technologies, methodologies, and applications within the drone industry. This involves staying abreast of emerging trends, conducting feasibility studies, and prototyping new solutions to enhance drone capabilities.
Product Development
  • To assist, facilitate, support the development and enhancement of drone hardware, software, and integrated systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritise features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions to market.
Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Establish rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of drone technology products. Conduct thorough testing and validation procedures to identify and address any issues or defects before deployment.
Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to guide the direction of drone technology initiatives. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the DroneTech department to drive technical excellence and problem-solving.
Partnership and Collaboration
  • Identify strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities with other companies, research institutions, and government agencies to leverage complementary expertise and resources. Form alliances to accelerate technology development, access new markets, and drive industry standards.
Regulatory Compliance and Standards
  • Stay informed about regulations, standards, and best practices governing drone technology, including airspace regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards. Ensure that departmental activities comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Commercialization and Business Development
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and business development teams to commercialise drone technology products and services. Identify target markets, develop go-to-market strategies, and support sales efforts to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
Talent Acquisition and Development
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the DroneTech department. Build a skilled and motivated team capable of executing on the technology strategy and delivering innovative solutions that meet customer needs and market demands.
Risk Management and Security
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with drone technology, including cybersecurity threats, data breaches, and operational hazards. Implement robust security measures and protocols to safeguard sensitive information and protect against potential threats.
Ad-hoc responsibilities & Special Project
  • Assist other team members from other departments when needed
  • Other duties instructed by the management team and supervisor
Job Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, IT, Aerospace, or a related technical or management field.
  • Relevant drone pilot certification or training is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in consulting, project management, engineering, aerospace, IT, technology, or government agencies. Experience in the drone industry ecosystem is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local and international drone regulations, technology, applications, or community is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in using basic Google tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Event management skills are advantageous.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating creativity and solution-oriented thinking.
  • Passion and dedication towards helping technology companies achieve success, commercialization, and growth are essential.
