Job Summary:

A TFA FEP is an entry level position. You will start by being enrolled in FieldCore\'s Field Engineering Program (FEP). While in the FEP, you will develop in-depth technical expertise, lean thinking and leadership skills and will have a unique opportunity to go through:

  • Learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors (TFA\xe2\x80\x99s)
You will gain experience and grow your career while traveling and helping provide power to communities. Upon successful graduation from the FEP program, you will be eligible for a TFA Controls position.

The TFA Controls manages controls activities on site during the Installation and Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty turbines/equipment (generator or mechanical drive); Responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID\xe2\x80\x99s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage, perform, coordinate and monitor the commissioning of systems within the scope of work according to time schedule, contract, standard and specific commissioning guidelines and procedures
  • Responsible to define the commissioning strategy in accordance with contractual and project requirements
  • Responsible for planning, preparation and execution of all commissioning activities from cold up to the hot commissioning
  • Responsible of the management of all commissioning team including internal and external partners
  • Responsible for the implementation and follow up of the business quality and EHS policies
  • Responsible to perform commissioning according to specifications and engineering protocols with compliance to site and local EHS regulations. The commissioning tasks include the following :
  • System preparation : Risk assessment and permit to work procedures, handling of documentation and tools
  • Parts recommissioning : Functional test and calibration of temperature & pressure measurement devices
  • Checks for auxiliary systems : lube oil, fuel gas, fuel oil, NOx water and nitrogen purge systems
  • Checks for gas turbine systems : Ignition, guide vanes, blow off valves, flame and pulsation monitoring
  • Checks for turbine protections
  • Inspection of air intake and exhaust housings
  • Boroscope inspection of static, rotating and hot gas parts
  • Preparation for motoroll and first firing
  • Ignition torch test and verification
  • Fuel gas / oil start up verification and optimization
  • Combustion mapping
  • Operation concept determination
  • Engine optimization and performance verifications
  • Responsible for root cause analysis and rectification of operational issues
  • Responsible for ensuring tasks completion and safe engine operation prior unit handover
  • Responsible for data transmittal and submission of final report and quality documents
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Strong technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.
  • Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.
  • Understand PLC ladder logic, including basic understanding of how to navigate through ladder rungs while troubleshooting
  • Have basic networking and programming knowledge
  • English proficiency required

  • Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems
