A Linux technical leader is a senior level technical expert who has in-depth knowledge and experience focusing on RedHat Enterprise Linux platform. The ideal candidate possesses a wide range of skills and abilities that are essential for providing advanced technical guidance and serve as a lead technical subject matter expert responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting Linux-based systems and infrastructure. As part of the Global Technology Operations team, you will be working closely with the Engineering Team, Information Security Team and Managed Service Providers (MSP) to manage and support organization mission critical systems. You will define operational support standards and look to document, train, and manage Integrated Operations Center skilled contingent workers to perform level 2 and level 3 technical support and the support of any routine operational activities. Serving as the deep Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of company\'s Linux operating systems and associated technologies such as Red Hat Virtualization, OpenShift, Red Hat Cluster Suite, and scripting tools like Ansible, Puppet, Python, Perl, Bash. As level 3 SME, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Linux operating systems and platforms, including system failures, performance issues, software errors, and security breaches. Show ownership of issues through resolution and able to solve complex operations issues by investigating technically and/or work both independently and collaboratively with other IT teams, vendors, technology leaders, as well as end-users when necessary. Serve as a technical escalation point and SME for Linux-based environment and associated technologies. Provide education and share knowledge on the full cycle of solutions including tools, technologies, and best practices for development, deployment, and maintenance of implemented services. Analyse environments and be capable of providing recommendations on security, performance, capacity, and compliance. Monitor the performance of the Linux-base operating systems / platforms and implement performance tuning as necessary. Develop, maintain, and drive documented standards, policies, procedures, inventory, and methodologies for operational support excellence to increased efficiency of the Linux-based environment. Build, maintain and manage MSP technical leads with the competency and capability to resolve complex Linux-based systems, applications, and network issues on a 24 X 7 basis. Work with peers to refine the operational support and improvement strategy, evaluate existing systems, processes, and vendors, identifying any design gaps or risks. Lead and drive life cycle management / upgrades, disaster recovery exercise, backup & recovery, incident response planning, and problem resolution management. Work with MSP provides oversight for service level agreement. Manage resources to assure system availability and capacity for growth. Assist in IT change management / ticket reviews, approvals, and planning. Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience Bachelor\'s degree and/or advanced diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field. At least 10+ years of experience in systems infrastructure design, support, and administration , with at least 8+ years of extensive experience as a \'Hands on\' SME in an Infrastructure Operations team, managing enterprise IT Infrastructure and solutions with RedHat Enterprise Linux in a large-scale production environment. Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Administrator (RHCA) qualification or equivalent combination of skills and experience is required. PMP, ITIL certification is an added advantage. Azure or GCP cloud certification is highly desired but not mandatory. Experience with and expertise in designing architecture for Red Hat\'s software solutions or equivalent, e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization and cloud technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or equivalent. Solid understanding of RedHat Enterprise Linux system administration, user administration, file/directory permissions, LVM, maintenance of software and system patches, TCP/IP concepts, NFS, NIS, DNS, storage concepts, performance tuning. Demonstrated ability to use automation tools and configuration management languages like Puppet, Chef, Red Hat Ansible Automation, and Bash. Familiarity with Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment and continuous integration (CI) tools like Red Hat OpenStack Platform director, TripleO, Canonical Ubuntu, Juju, Mirantis, Fuel, etc. is a plus. Possess scripting abilities and experience in Ansible playbook and understanding of monitoring solutions. Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving issues related to RedHat Enterprise Linux systems and be able to work closely with other teams within the organization to ensure the availability and reliability of the systems. In-depth knowledge of technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems. Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Informix, DB2 databases, Control-M, WAS, Weblogic, Networker, Apache, Nginx is an added advantage. Proficiency in administration on VMware, Xen, KVM, SAN Storage & various backup solutions. Good working knowledge of network architectures and protocols. Familiar with ITSM solutions like RemedyForce, Jira, ServiceNow, etc. Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Demonstrate strong leadership, and capable of managing supporting team from various background and MSP. Self-driven & motivated, tenacious problem solver will own issues until full resolution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in both speaking and writing English. Ability to build and maintain relationships and work cross functionally and interact confidently across all channels. Ability to carry out tasks to a high standard with a strong eye for attention to detail and thorough approach to their work. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent judgement, and possess a passion for continuous learning. Background in regulated global companies a plus (financial institutions, pharmaceutical, healthcare or similar).
