A Unix technical leader is a senior level technical expert in Unix systems and architecture who has in-depth knowledge and experience on AIX, Solaris and Linux platform. The ideal candidate possesses a wide range of skills and abilities that are essential for providing advanced technical guidance and serve as a lead technical subject matter expert responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting Unix-based systems and infrastructure. As part of the Global Technology Operations team, you will be working closely with the Engineering Team, Information Security Team and Managed Service Providers (MSP) to manage and support organization mission critical systems. You will define operational support standards and look to document, train, and manage Integrated Operations Center skilled contingent workers to perform level 1, level 2 and level 3 technical support and the support of any routine operational activities. Serving as the deep Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of company\'s AIX and Solaris operating systems and associated technologies such as VIOS, SR-IOV Virtualization, PowerHA Clustering and Scripting. As level 3 SME, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the AIX and Solaris systems, including system failures, performance issues, software errors, and security breaches. Show ownership of issues through resolution and able to solve complex operations issues by investigating technically and/or work both independently and collaboratively with other IT teams, vendors, technology leaders, as well as end-users when necessary. Serve as a technical escalation point and SME for Unix-based environment and associated technologies. Provide education and share knowledge on the full cycle of solutions including tools, technologies, and best practices for development, deployment, and maintenance of implemented services. Analyse environments and be capable of providing recommendations on security, performance, capacity, and compliance. Monitor the performance of the AIX and Solaris systems and implement performance tuning as necessary. Develop, maintain, and drive documented standards, policies, procedures, inventory, and methodologies for operational support excellence to increased efficiency of the Unix-based environment. Build, maintain and manage MSP technical leads with the competency and capability to resolve complex Unix-based systems, applications, and network issues on a 24 X 7 basis. Work with peers to refine the operational support and improvement strategy, evaluate existing systems, processes, and vendors, identifying any design gaps or risks. Lead and drive life cycle management / upgrades, disaster recovery exercise, backup & recovery, incident response planning, and problem resolution management. Work with MSP provides oversight for service level agreement. Manage resources to assure system availability and capacity for growth. Assist in IT change management / ticket reviews, approvals, and planning. Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience Bachelor\'s degree and/or advanced diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field. 10+ years of experience in systems infrastructure design, support, and administration, with at least 7+ years of extensive experience as a \'Hands on\' SME in an Infrastructure Operations team managing critical IT Infrastructure on various Unix Operating Systems and hardware platforms. UNIX O/S including IBM AIX, Oracle Solaris, Red Hat Linux. Preferably AIX. PMP, ITIL certification is an added advantage. Linux Certified Administrator and Azure cloud certification is highly desired but not mandatory. Possess a thorough understanding of Unix-based systems and architecture, as well as experience with shell scripting, automation tools, and security best practices. Solid understanding of AIX system administration, user administration, file/directory permissions, LVM, maintenance of software and system patches, TCP/IP concepts, NFS, NIS, DNS, storage concepts, performance tuning. Experience and able to perform Unix System Administration for Enterprise Sun Solaris Systems is a plus. Expertise in Planning, installing, and configuring Power Systems. In-depth knowledge and experience with PowerHA SystemMirror administration, configuration, cluster build, storage addition and filesystem administration, cluster nodes, topologies, networks, and heartbeating concepts. Strong working experience with PowerVM/VIOS, HMC, Virtualization, LPM, NPIV, SAN-attached storage, NIM (Network Installation Manager), GPFS clusters, Azure Linux server and Skytap server migrations / administration. Strong working experience with IBM tools such as NIM, sysBack, nMon / njMmon, HMC scanner, etc. is a requirement. Familiarity with Oracle / Oracle RAC database, Informix, DB2 databases, Control-M, WAS, Weblogic, Networker, in the AIX environment is an advantage. Proficiency in administration on Linux, VMware, SAN Storage & various backup solutions. Experience with shell scripting in bash or ksh (korn shell). Strong working knowledge of other O/S\'s i.e., Windows and VMware. Sound working knowledge of network architectures and protocols. Possess scripting abilities and experience in Ansible playbook and understanding of monitoring solutions. Familiar with ITSM solutions like RemedyForce, ServiceNow, Jira, etc. Experience implementing, upgrading, re-engineering, and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving issues related to AIX and Solaris systems and be able to work closely with other teams within the organization to ensure the availability and reliability of the systems. Self-driven & motivated, tenacious problem solver will own issues until full resolution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in both speaking and writing English. Ability to build and maintain relationships and work cross functionally and interact confidently across all channels. Ability to carry out tasks to a high standard with a strong eye for attention to detail and thorough approach to their work. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent judgement, and possess a passion for continuous learning. Background in regulated global companies a plus (financial institutions, pharmaceutical, healthcare or similar).
