CSSD Technician

Responsibilities:



Decontamination



Decontaminate and wash all instruments according to recommended work instructions.

Sort out instruments for manual and ultrasonic washer.

To do manual cleaning on delicate or hard to clean instruments or as recommended by the manufacturer to avoid damage to instruments.

To ensure wet wash all OR trolleys on Saturdays with soap and water.

Report to Head of Unit (HOU) / Nurse in Charge if instruments are faulty or loss or need to be sharpened. To operate and troubleshoot cleaning equipment.

To appropriately handles garbage, linen and bio-hazardous materials.

To maintain safety standards.

Preparing Instruments



To perform duties as a central processing technician independently as per work instruction.

To be consistently use recipes to correctly assemble, protect, wrap containerize and/or peel package and label instruments.

To identified and inspect instrument for cleanliness and functionality.

Sterilization Process



To be familiar with the process and follow the correct principles of sterilization and to ensure appropriate sterilization methods.

To ensure amount of packaged load into chamber not more than 85% of the total volume.

To ensure that the heavy items must not compress on other items/sets.

To ensure to place hollow ware items on its side or inverted.

To properly documents and verifies sterilization loads and biological tests to determine the efficacy of the sterilization process.

Storage



To ensure the sterile supplies, equipment and instruments are properly handled and stored.

Distribution



To retrieve, disburse and track surgical supplies and equipment to the end-user in a timely manner.

Equipment



To be familiarised and competent to use, maintain and operate the equipment specific to central processing, i.e. high steam sterilizer, low temperature sterilizer plasma, washer disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners and heat sealer as well as a variety of testing devices.

Inventory Control



To familiarise with the processes of ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating delivering and monitoring usage of surgical supplies.

To communicate with the appropriate personnel of supply issues in a timely manner.

Environmental Standards



Ensure to maintain a clean orderly work area.

Complete assigned housekeeping duties accordingly.

To assist in the provision and maintenance of an optimal environment protecting patients and others from danger of infection, accidents and other hazards.

Perform any other duties, or participate in committees or projects, that are assigned by superior or management from time to time.

Requirements:



Minimum SPM qualification.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Experience in the

healthcare

industry is preferred.

Computer literate and able to work shifts.

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
