Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Test Technician performs engineering work. Work at this level is not complex. Some wide variety of complex technical tasks will have engineer's instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs calibration checks on electronic instruments.

• Perform unit test to support production schedule.
• Conducts semi-routine engineering and detailed experimental tests.
• Keeps detailed and accurate logs on all assigned activities.
• Participate in yield and continuous improvement action.
• Help to control SPC and GR&R.
• Assists engineers to design, development, construction, and evaluation of test fixture and equipment.
• Understands, sustains and maintains test program, maintains test equipment system with Test Engineer support.
• Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat
• Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering lab environment.
• Completes many repetitive tasks that include the use of electronic equipment.
• Operates sampling and real time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special test fixtures.
• Works under direct supervision and get support from engineer sometimes to understand new tasks.
• Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
• Good communication ability and team work.
• Knowledge of testing instruments, such as Digital Scope, DMM, Generator, computer etc.
• Knowledge of Basic English ability, reading ability is preferred.
• Good computational and technical skills.
• Ability to work independently and ability to be creative.

EXPERIENCE:
Essential:

• Minimum of five (5) years of related experiences.
• Knowledge of electrical Engineering or a related field

Desirable:

• Basic English knowledge.
• ESD knowledge.
• 5S knowledge.
• Product test procedure knowledge.

EDUCATION:

• Technical school or Diploma level or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience
