Job Description


Job Summary:The Engineering Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities. This includes troubleshooting and fixing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, as well as conducting preventive maintenance tasks. The Technician will work closely with other members of the engineering team to maintain high standards of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction.Responsibilities:Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and other departments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment and systems.
Preventive Maintenance:
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
  • Follow the preventive maintenance schedule and ensure all tasks are completed as planned.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and hotel policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Engineering Manager.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the engineering team to complete projects and tasks.
  • Assist in training new team members on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure maintenance needs are understood and addressed.
Guest Service:
  • Provide excellent customer service to hotel guests by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning
Qualifications: * Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment and systems.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical, HVAC, or other technical areas are a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Other: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent guest service.
Working Conditions: * The Engineering Technician will work both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.
  • The position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work, as well as on-call availability for emergencies.
