plays a critical hands-on role in ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all production machinery and utility systems within the manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting complex equipment failures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Execute scheduled
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
and calibration activities on production equipment (e.g., mixers, filling lines, packaging machines) and utility systems (HVAC, chiller units).
Perform rapid
Corrective Maintenance (CM)
and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize production downtime.
Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Ensure all maintenance work is documented accurately in the maintenance management system (CMMS).
Operational Support and Compliance
Strictly adhere to
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
, safety standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during all maintenance activities.
Collaborate with Production Supervisors to schedule necessary maintenance and support equipment changeovers/setups efficiently.
Manage spare parts inventory for key equipment, ensuring critical parts are readily available.
Continuous Improvement (CI)
Support the implementation of CI projects, focusing on reducing equipment breakdowns, improving efficiency, and extending the lifespan of machinery.
Propose technical solutions or modifications to equipment to address recurring operational issues.
Assist in the installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery and equipment.
Requirements
Education:
Diploma or higher qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or equivalent).
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical support, ideally within a
manufacturing environment (FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Pharmaceuticals is highly preferred).
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in both
mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
Experience with
PLC troubleshooting
(basic diagnostics) is an advantage.
Familiarity with GMP/HACCP documentation and safety procedures (LOTO).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency.
Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
