Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on welding robots, power sources, welding guns, and tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Process Optimization:
Support the Welding/Manufacturing Engineering team in developing, refining, and documenting weld schedules and parameters (e.g., current, voltage, wire feed speed) to meet quality standards.
Tooling/Fixture:
Inspect, adjust, and repair welding fixtures and jigs to maintain part alignment and repeatability.
Quality Control:
Perform and support non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and destructive testing (e.g., tear-down analysis) of welded assemblies to verify weld integrity and quality.
Electrical and Automation Systems
Electrical Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on all production machinery, including motors, drives, sensors, and control components.
PLC/HMI:
Troubleshoot and make minor program modifications (read and interpret ladder logic) to
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to resolve production issues.
Wiring and Installation:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, control panels, and power distribution systems following all safety codes and schematics.
Instrumentation:
Calibrate and maintain various instruments and sensors used in the automated process (e.g., proximity sensors, pressure transducers, temperature controllers).
Safety, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement
Safety Compliance:
Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
procedures, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Technical Documentation:
Read and accurately interpret complex blueprints, electrical schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and robot programs to perform repairs and maintenance.
Record Keeping:
Maintain detailed, accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and propose solutions or lead projects to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost.
