Job Description


.QualificationsOBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMMEThe incumbent will drive the assigned vehicle safely for the transport of the head of the WHO country office, authorized personnel, goods and supplies related to the official work of the WHO office in line with country traffic regulations and will also support the office with basic clerical work.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIESThe incumbent will perform all or part of the following, and other related responsibilities as required by the needs of the office.

  • Provide reliable and secure driving services by
  • driving office vehicles for the transport of the Head of the WHO country office, authorized personnel, including for field visits, and the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items;
  • meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport and facilitating immigration and customs formalities, as required;
  • checking for availability of all the required documents/supplies for the assigned vehicle, including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts;
  • completing the monthly vehicle data form at the end of the month.
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, oil changes, checking tyres and brakes, car washing, and making arrangements for major repairs.
  • Report any incidents/ accidents as per the steps outlined in the rules and regulations
  • Provide clerical and general office assistance to office staff
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducationEssential: Completion of secondary education or equivalence training and valid driving license.Desirable: Basic mechanics\xe2\x80\x99 certificate and first aid training.ExperienceEssential: Minimum two years of work experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
Desirable: Experience in driving within WHO or another United Nations agency.Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of local traffic regulations and topography of the country.
  • Proficient in protocol and organizational security standards for drivers
  • Proven mechanical knowledge and skills in operating and maintaining different types of vehicles.
  • Proven ability to interact positively and tactfully with diverse clients
  • Ability to write concise official reports of incidents, read and understand instructions in the working language.

REMUNERATIONWHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at MYR 31,132 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
