Position title: Test Engineer

Location: Penang

Headcount: 1

Tenure: Permanent

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Test Development and Implementation

Design and develop test strategies and plans for SMT assemblies.

Create and maintain test fixtures and automated test systems.

Develop and program test scripts for automated testing equipment.

Process Optimization

Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement.

Optimize test processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies.

Quality Assurance

Ensure all SMT products meet quality and performance standards.

Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain testing protocols.

Perform failure analysis and work with design and production teams to resolve issues.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and corrective actions.

Generate comprehensive test reports and present findings to stakeholders.

Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and company policies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to ensure testability and manufacturability of SMT products.

Provide technical support and guidance to production and quality teams.

Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on test requirements and specifications.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SMT testing or a related field.

Proficiency in developing and implementing automated test systems.

Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, mustimeters, and logic analysers.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of SMT processes and electronic components.

Proficient in programming languages used for test automation

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, or equivalent are a plus.
