The Thai Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality, authentic Thai cuisine that reflects Tamarind Springs' standards. This role ensures all dishes are prepared consistently, maintains kitchen hygiene, and supports smooth daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
Develop, refine, and improve Thai menu items when required.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled safely.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
Monitor food portioning, waste control, and cost efficiency.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Train and guide junior kitchen staff on Thai cooking techniques.
Assist in menu planning, costing, and seasonal menu updates when needed.
Maintain good communication with service staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Thai Chef or Thai Cook, preferably in a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of Thai cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
Understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices.
Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, and split shifts.
Basic English or Malay communication skills (added advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a premium or fine-dining Thai restaurant.
Ability to develop creative Thai dishes while maintaining authenticity.
