Job Description

Responsible for providing engineering expertise and technical support for topside facilities in offshore oil and gas projects, including new construction, modification, and upgrading works Oversee design, engineering, and implementation of topside systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, PETRONAS Technical Requirements, and relevant international standards. Review and evaluate engineering deliverables, including drawings, calculations, and technical documents prepared by contractors and vendors. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper integration of topside systems with structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation elements. Provide technical guidance and clarification during engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases. Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability studies to ensure efficient and safe project execution. Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely resolution of technical issues in accordance with project schedule and quality requirements. Liaise with clients, contractors, and third parties to ensure technical alignment and compliance throughout all stages of the project. Support project management in identifying and mitigating technical risks related to topside design and execution. Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives for future offshore development projects.

Requirements

Minimum recognized Degree in Engineering or equivalent educational background. At least fifteen (15) years of experience in Oil & Gas companies. Minimum seven (7) years of practical experience as a Topside Engineer. Vast experience and knowledge of PETRONAS Technical Requirements and relevant specifications for the construction or upgrading of offshore facilities. Strong understanding of offshore topside design, construction, and integration principles. Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.). Excellent coordination, analytical, and communication skills for effective interface with multidisciplinary teams. Proven capability to manage technical deliverables and resolve complex engineering issues under challenging project conditions.
