Job Summary:

The Tow Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a tow truck to assist stranded motorists, transport vehicles to repair facilities or impound lots, and perform recovery operations. The driver must ensure timely response to service calls while maintaining a high standard of customer service, safety, and professionalism on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond promptly to dispatch calls for towing, roadside assistance, or vehicle recovery. Safely operate flatbed or wheel-lift tow trucks to transport vehicles. Load, secure, and unload vehicles according to company and safety procedures. Provide roadside assistance services such as jump-starts, tire changes, lockouts, and fuel delivery. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tow truck and report any maintenance issues. Maintain accurate logs, service records, and paperwork for each call handled. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and repair shops. Handle vehicles with care to avoid damage and ensure customer satisfaction. Follow proper procedures when towing impounded, repossessed, or accident-involved vehicles. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle and self. Report any accidents, incidents, or delays immediately to management.

Licensing:

Valid driver's license (Class E and Vocational Licence (GDL) ). Clean driving record with no recent major violations.

Experience:

Prior experience as a tow truck driver or in vehicle recovery preferred. Familiarity with local roads, highways, and traffic laws. Knowledge of cars.

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate towing equipment. Excellent driving and maneuvering skills. Good communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work independently and handle stressful roadside situations. Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy lifting and outdoor conditions.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to traffic hazards and emergency situations. Requires use of safety gear and adherence to safety protocols.
