• Knowledge in legal and other requirements, and good environmental, safety and health practices.
• SPM/PMR Holders with at least 3 year experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates tower crane to lift and move building materials from ground storage areas and trucks to top of building under construction: climbs ladder inside vertically mounted tower to gain access to control pad suspended under crane boom.
• Pushes or pulls lever on control console to rotate counter-balanced horizontally mounted boom to extend or retract trolley along boom, and to raise and lower hook to which loads are attached.
• Control crane movement in response to hand signals or radio commands by supervisor or signaler.
• May operate crane from remote console on top of building.
• May operate radio-controlled crane.
• Must always exercise proper diligence and operate the crane safely.
• Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
• Move levers, depress foot pedals, or turn dials to operate cranes, cherry pickers, electromagnets, or other moving equipment for lifting, moving, or placing loads.
• Inspect cables or grappling devices for wear and install or replace cables, as needed.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary.
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Direct helpers engaged in placing blocking or outringging under cranes.
• Load or unload from trucks or move containers to storage bins, using moving equipment.
• Weigh bundles, using floor scales, and record weights for company records.
• Review daily work or delivery schedules to determine orders, sequences of deliveries, or special loading instructions.
• Direct truck drivers backing vehicles into loading bays and cover, uncover, or secure loads for delivery.
• Inspect bundle packaging for conformance to regulations or customer requirements and remove and batch packaging tickets.
• Monitor maintenance and repair schedule of crane and its related parts and ensure timely maintenance and repair of the crane.
• To ensure minimum \'down time\' to the crane and carry out crane operation when required and/or instructed by superior.
• To comply with applicable legal and other requirements.
• To take responsibility to protect the environment and prevent pollution.
• To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so set by the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
