Develop, review, and implement Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) for construction zones or worksites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
Monitor and manage the placement, operation and removal of traffic control devices (cones, barriers, signage, flashers, etc.).
Monitor traffic conditions around work zones: detect traffic bottlenecks, incident occurrences, unsafe situations, and adjust traffic control measures accordingly.
Liaise and coordinate with local authorities, law enforcement, emergency services, subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth traffic flow and public/user safety.
Prepare reports and documentation: for example, tri-monthly Traffic Management Safety Reports (TMSRs), daily/weekly site diaries, incident reports, update TMPs when conditions change.
Plan for and respond to traffic incidents or emergencies: e.g., accidents, road closures, natural events (floods, landslides), public events that affect traffic. Develop Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) as part of TMP/TCP scope.
Ensure that all traffic safety equipment, signage, devices are maintained, in good condition, and that personnel (traffic controllers, etc) are trained and aware of their duties.
Occasionally, attend meetings, do site inspections, perform audits of traffic control systems, and ensure the contract's traffic management obligations are met. CIDB HQ
