Sarawak, MalaysiaJob Family Group: Production Engineering UpstreamWorker Type: RegularPosting Start Date: February 23, 2024Business unit: Integrated Gas and UpstreamExperience Level: Experienced Professionals:Where you fit inYou will have the opportunity to join Shell Malaysia Exploration & Production (SMEP) Capability team, supporting Sarawak Gas and Sabah Deepwater as Process Trainer to ensure Operations Technicians Process (OTP) or/and Control Room Operators (CRO) in right position with right skills to deliver top performance in delivering safe production of hydrocarbon within operating envelope, business targets, and regulatory compliances.About the roleAs Trainer, you will be accountable for the following:

  • Trainer for SMEP OTP and CRO to develop capability, assure competencies, and plan for future demand in Assets.
  • Ability to use Train the Trainer skills, preferably as Certified trainer by HRDF to train OTP and CRO for better understanding and learnings.
  • As BTEC Quality Nominee, ensure compliance of SMEP programme to the BTEC policy/procedure, monitor progression for BTEC Level 3/4, and to deliver induction/training/coaching/assessment to learner in accordance with requirements.
  • Organize team meeting with CRO/OTP learners at defined frequency to understand needs/support required by learners to meet target completion date and provide coaching/helps.
  • Participate in quarterly multi-disciplinaries (M, E, I, P) trainers meeting to review OTs competence database and discuss ways to drive initiatives to address issues/gap identified in Operations.
  • Internal verifier for BTEC for staffs to upskill OTs dual skills (within M, E, I, P) as part of competence development.
  • Support and provide input to Competence Assurance Panel (CAP) Meeting for OT Progression, FLBM discussion, CRO Competency, Pearson BTEC, and others.
  • As and when there are business requirements, staff can be assigned more business/safety critical and technical tasks.
Dimensions
  • Normal office-based work time. This role covers the Shell Malaysia Upstream COG PU consisting of SOV assets:
  • Sarawak with 2 manned hub F6/F23, 1 E8/E6 team at E11 Hub, and future Rosemari & Marjoram Onshore Gas Plant (OGP) in Bintulu Sabah with 2 manned deepwater fields namely Gumusut-Kakap and Malikai.
What we need from you
  • Degree or diploma in Process technical/engineering disciplines and min 10 years of Oil & Gas technical experiences in Process/Control Room Operations
  • Preferred to be as BTEC certified Process Trainer or equivalent
  • Normal office-based work time but will require to travel offshore sites including yards, onshore as required
  • Good command of English & Bahasa Malaysia communication/writing skills, with ability to interface well with various internal/external stakeholders for conflicts/issues resolutions.
  • Experiences in providing trainings to improve competences. Good analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
