Translation Central Team Specialist with Mandarin

The Translation Central Team is a newly established internal team supporting Smith & Nephew Commercial Training business with delivering material and learning course contents translations across multiple countries in various regions in accordance to current requirements and needs.

The Translation Central Team Specialist with Japanese is responsible for providing translation for the above-mentioned requirements based on Commercial Teams\xe2\x80\x99 input, and in accordance to agreed service measures \xe2\x80\x93 that includes reading and thoroughly understanding the context of given material, using specialized dictionaries and translation tools and proofreading finished pieces of work. The role will also include regular communication and collaboration with teams located across different regions (LATAM, APAC).

Ultimately, the Translation Central Team Specialist with Japanese will provide ready-to-use translated content that meets internal needs and opens opportunities for expansion of knowledge on Smith & Nephew products for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Perform translation of a variety of documents including literary, legal, research, technical, scientific, educational, and commercial materials and course contents.

Read given material and research industry-specific terminology.

Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check quality of translation.

Perform post-translation review and final QA, ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone.

Cooperate with Commercial Teams in terms of translation requirements, Learning Management System course uploads, revisions and quality.

Adhere to industry quality standards to ensure that all completed work follows legal and ethical obligations.

Experience:

Proven 1-3-year work experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar role.

Completed Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or Postgraduate on translation studies.

Certification in translation is a strong asset.

Preferred experience in medical-related corporate environment.

Competences:

Strong Mandarin language skills \xe2\x80\x93 C2 or native.

Fluency in a second language is a strong asset.

Knowledge of medical-related terminology is a strong asset.

Experience with leaning software (Create, Articulate, Lectora) is a strong asset.

Experience with machine translation is a strong asset.

Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.

Good knowledge of content editing tools.

Familiarity with translation software.

Excellent skills on communication and attention to detail.

Strong planning, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to learn new tools and techniques quickly, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow and comply with company policies.
