We are looking for a Translation Specialist to join our talented Content team in Clarivate, Penang , Malaysia. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on the Derwent product within Clarivate . In this role , you will utilize your subject matter expertise (in areas such as Patent, Life sciences, Pharma, Chemistry, etc.) to perform post-editing and proofreading of Chinese p atent content from Chinese to English to ensure that the p atent content contains the most precise, pertinent, and up-to-date information . About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments Excellent read and written (Mandarin) and excellent read, spoken and written English. A Science , Chemistry , Biotechnology, Biomedical science , Pharma or Bioscience, Law, Intellectual Properties, Chinese Language related degree required masters/advanced degree preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good data analysis skill (using Microsoft excel, Power BI and other data analysis tools) A customer-driven approach and good commercial awareness. Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines and targets. A team player with the ability to work under own initiative, driving concept to conclusion. Excellent interpersonal skills. Problem identification and solving skills. Visible \'can do\' approach to work and positive attitude to change. It would be great if you are . . . Prior experience as a linguist. Prior experience in handling the content translation (CN -EN ) Prior experience in quality control. What will you be doing in this role Analyze quality checks from weekly publications of Mandarin patents to drive weekly selection and allocation of translated patent records for editorial enhancement. Review editorial suggestions applied to local translation dictionaries, approve valid suggestions and oversee updates to master dictionaries. Review and approve suggestions and manage updates to the translation memory. Manage customer cases assigned by the Customer Service Desk and operational requests for translation enhancement, allocate retranslation/enhancement requests and manage any associated updates to the master dictionaries and translation memory. Provide data analysis and reporting from periodic quality benchmarking reviews. Provide analysis and feedback of quality assurance data to external vendors to drive continuous content improvement. Provide analysis and suggestions for process and content improvements as part of daily role or through participation in project teams. Provide quality assurance checks for the translation of assignee, inventor, agent names translations and address data. Support Mandarin patent assignee (PACO) team in reviewing and researching the correct translation of company entities to ensure a joined-up approach to the translation and identification of companies. Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your team lead on a permanent or temporary basis . About the Team The Chinese translation specialist team is dedicated to provid ing the top-notch support for machine translation post-editing and translation content curation of Chinese patents. W e continuously improve our machine translation output by conducting regular QA and data analysis and working closely with our machine training specialists. Additionally, we also prioritize in managing customer expectations to ensure their satisfaction with our products and services .
