TRANSPORT MANAGER (Based in Mapletree Logistics Hub, Shah Alam, Selangor

Job Summary:

Manage both own and external transporters i.e. third party transporters, including managing customers\' delivery, returns, etc

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Vendor Management

  • To oversees all transporter and manage their KPI to meet customers\' requirements.
  • To Source for new vendors and improve the pool of vendors for selection and change management.
  • To train and ensuring SOP are met and comply to customers\' requirements
  • To formulate new training program for drivers and have continue improvement plans.
  • To source and expand vendors pool for all lanes of transportation in Malaysia.
Contract Management
  • Manage and expand the contractors\' pools and secure competitive rates from vendors.
  • Ensuring contractors maintain and improve its KPI.
  • Manage the day-to-day transport operation with subordinator.
  • Ensure all KPI has meet according to the requirement from client
  • Change & replace contractors if performance is below expectation.
TMS
  • To lead for new project implementation for TMS.
  • Roll out new TMS and implement to existing customers\' base.
  • Ensuring track and trace, POD management and Billing Module for future billing.
Project Management
  • Prepare project and project lead time/ time line for any new implementation projects.
  • Manage sub-contractor performance and KPI related to the services rendered
  • Liaising with HR for new recruitment for future recruitments and must attained approval from top management.
Other related to Project Management
  • To lead for new projects won by BD team and implement and execute the project and source for transporters, process , SOP and KPI related requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain
  • At least 5 - 8 years in transport management including managing 3rd party logistics (3PL)
  • Work experience in transport not compulsory. Can be from managing transport depot or 3PL in a commercial compay
  • Proficient in Mandarin (written & verbal)
  • 5 day-work week
Salary RM7.000 - RM10,000, to commensurate with experience. Position reports to the AGM /Operations Director
