The Legal team is responsible for providing advice and counsel to our business and functional clients across the company. Our legal professionals help the company avoid legal exposure, while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in the countries where AIG operates. Company attorneys also complete innovative deals and help shape the development of cutting-edge insurance products.

About the role

This is an exciting newly created position which will play an important role for individual travel product, underwriting and pricing strategies to achieve profitable growth

What you need to know:

• Develop a product strategy to meet the needs of key clients while balancing the need for innovation with efficient procedures that ensure speed to market.
• Develop processes and procedures with internal partners to ensure referrals are completed within agreed timelines.
• Working with Actuarial team to price products profitably and develop pricing methodologies. o Ensure that business written adheres to risk appetite guidelines.
• Lead the execution and adherence to underwriting best practices and guidelines in country. Ensure all underwriting directives and compliance processes are followed.
• Identify and find ways to reduce underwriting leakage.
• Conduct Portfolio reviews by identifying key profit and loss drivers for Malaysia travel business with using existing dashboards provided by Regional Portfolio management team.
• Develop and generate Portfolio review reports on regular basis.
• Monitor the performance of the portfolio and provide suggestions on potential improvement actions as applicable.
• Conduct a series of deep dive analysis on issues identified from regular business review sessions.
• Work closely with business intelligence team to support efforts to improve and maintain accuracy and granularity of the data reporting.

• Bachelor's degree

• Preferred minimum 3-5 years of underwriting and product experience
• Fluency in English both written and spoken
• Possess strong reasoning and analytical skills to merge statistical insights with

business realities

• Good communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service ethic, with a sound understanding of business processes
