Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and compassionate leader who meets the following criteria:
Essential Requirements
1. Education: Minimum Degree qualification required (preferably in Animal Health, Animal Science, or a related field).
2. Experience: Proven experience in a veterinary clinical environment, demonstrating proficiency in veterinary assistant duties.
3. Leadership: Demonstrated experience in supervising staff, handling critical client situations, and driving operational improvements.
4. Work Ethic: High level of Empathy (EQ), emotional control, and a positive, professional demeanor.
5. Language: Excellent command of spoken and written English and Malay.
Clinical & Operational Skills
6. Animal Comfort: Not scared of animals / no allergies. Must be competent in safe animal handling and restraint techniques.
7. Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry weights up to 20kg.
8. Administrative Tech: Strong computer skills in standard office software and proficiency in patient management systems (Kreloses or similar).
9. Detail Focus: Possesses a highly detailed and meticulous approach to tasks, especially in record-keeping and inventory.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership, Clinical Care, and Operations

This role encompasses managerial oversight, direct clinical support, and operational management.
1. Clinical & Patient Care
- Veterinary Assistance: Directly assist Veterinary Doctors during consultations, treatments, and surgical procedures (including necropsy/post-mortem assistance).
- Diagnostics: Conduct diagnostic tests, including blood tests (CBC/Serum), X-ray imaging, and microscopic examinations.
- Procedures: Perform simple procedures as directed (injections, phlebotomy, IV port placement, fluid therapy, deworming, etc.).
- Warded Animal Care (Husbandry): Provide high-quality care for all hospitalized animals, including feeding, cleaning, administering prescribed treatments, and maintaining detailed records.
- Preparation: Prepare medications, instruments, and animals for surgery.
2. Operational Management & Client Relations
- Client Flow Management: Manage customer complaints and inquiries. Ensure smooth clinic operations by minimizing client waiting times (15-60 mins targets).
- Service Improvement: Investigate causes of prolonged waiting times and implement solutions. Address client dissatisfaction promptly and escalate significant issues directly to the Directing Manager.
- Cleanliness & Maintenance: Ensure the clinic environment is always tidy, clean, and conducive (e.g., setting AC to 24C). Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of all veterinary and non-veterinary equipment (e.g., Anaesthesia machine, Ultrasound, X-ray, lab machines, cages, AC/filters).
- Record Integrity: Ensure accurate data entry and updating within the computerized information system (Kreloses).
3. Inventory Oversight & Compliance
- Supervision: Oversee staff performing regular stock checks and ensure all consumables and medications are consistently stocked.
- Reporting: Ensure immediate reporting of expired goods and low stock levels to the Assistant Admin.
-Coordination: Coordinate the preparation and submission of the complete year-end stock report by the fourth week of December.
