In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99re expected:GeneralTo front the Islamic banking business in the bank, and this shall include representing the bank in meetings with the regulators/ industry associations;To continuously engage internal stakeholders on opportunities and strategies to grow the Islamic banking business unit and this shall include regular periodical reporting to the CCO and engagement via various committees and sub-committees within the bank;To ensure continuous effective engagement with internal business, support and control units;To liaise with external stakeholders (and this shall include the regulators) on all relevant matters effectively and in the most professional manner;To ensure the general smooth running of the Islamic banking unit;To ensure all functions within the Islamic banking units are performed effectively and promptly.Governance, Risk and ControlTo ensure all matters relating to Shariah compliance are managed and handled efficiently, accurately and promptly by the relevant Shariah Control Officer;To ensure adherence to all relevant rules and regulations and these include resolutions by the BNM SAC, Securities Commission and Shariah Committee;To ensure all relevant internal/ external reporting(s) are done accurately and on a timely manner;To escalate any Shariah non-compliance event to Citi\'s SC, BoD and if required by law, to the relevant regulatory body;To ensure appropriate remedial action plans are in place for the Shariah non-compliance findings;To assist other control units within the bank in their review of Islamic banking business.To review and act as final approver for MCA and LRRF reporting any other compliance/control report.Product DevelopmentTo assist business unit(s) in providing Islamic financial solutions according to clients\' needs;To assist business units(s) in the preparation of product paper for all necessary internal and external approvals;To assist business unit(s) in drafting and finalizing of all relevant documents for Islamic product transactions and this shall include legal documentations, LOPs and any other related documents;To ensure continuous support to business unit(s) during the life of an Islamic product and this shall include ensuring (i) all queries (relating to Islamic products) from clients/ stakeholder(s) are responded to promptly and accurately; (ii) all related documents are updated.Product ControlTo ensure adherence to the internal policies of the Bank and the relevant guidelines issued by BNM at all times.To assist in reviewing and updating relevant cross functional LOP, policy, legal documentations and business assignments to ensure it aligns with product, policy documents issued by BNM and Shariah requirements.Work in collaboration with Internal Auditor and Shariah Control Officer in assisting the overall implementation of internal audit process driven by Internal Auditor.Product ComplianceTo uphold the compliance culture in managing compliance riskTo act as a Business Compliance Officer for Islamic Banking unit and update internal compliance matters accordingly.To ensure adherence to Policy Document issued by Bank Negara Malaysia in end-to-end product development process.Product TrainingTo provide Product training to relevant Business Units prior to launching of products.To complete online training as provided via the system on timely basis. To attend any workshops/seminars that is relevant to Islamic Banking.Education:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degreeWorking at Citi is far more than just a job.
