Role Overview



We're looking for a

VICIdial Systems Engineer

who can do more than just manage dials -- someone who can make them sing.

You'll be responsible for architecting, administering, and fine-tuning VICIdial-based solutions to deliver seamless customer experiences. From UI-based administration to complex dialplan design, you'll bridge the gap between technical precision and customer satisfaction.

If you're the type of engineer who thinks in logic flows, dreams in dialplans, and smiles when someone says "custom integration," then this might just be your next big call (pun intended).

You will lead challenging projects, guide junior engineers, engage with customers at all stages, and help drive ORENCloud's technology leadership.

Key Responsibilities



Design, Deploy, and Manage VoIP Solutions



Architect, implement, and support multi-tenant VoIP and contact center solutions using Vicidial, Asterisk/FreePBX, and related platforms. Integrate VoIP infrastructure with cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean) and virtual environments (Proxmox). Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot pfSense and related network security appliances.

Advanced Troubleshooting (Level 3)



Serve as the final escalation point for critical and complex issues affecting customer voice infrastructure. Analyze call flows, SIP/RTP traces, logs, and system behavior to diagnose and resolve incidents. Propose and implement permanent solutions to recurring issues.

Client Engagement & Solution Design



Work closely with customers to understand requirements, assess environments, and propose tailored solutions. Write clear, persuasive technical proposals and present solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Support sales teams during pre-sales and post-sales engagements, including customer presentations and solution demos.

Team Leadership & Mentoring



Lead and guide a team of junior engineers, providing hands-on support, mentorship, and technical training. Drive best practices in deployments, troubleshooting, and documentation across the team.

Documentation & Knowledge Management



Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, SOPs, and internal knowledgebase articles. Ensure all solutions and processes are well-documented for compliance and future reference.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Experience



Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in VoIP engineering, ideally within enterprise or service provider environments. Proven track record designing and supporting complex VoIP/contact center environments (Vicidial, Asterisk, FreePBX).

Technical Skills



Strong Linux system administration (Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL). Proficiency in VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, WebRTC), call routing, and trunking. In-depth knowledge of Vicidial, Asterisk, FreePBX, and related open-source telephony systems. Solid networking skills: TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, NAT, VPNs, QoS, pfSense. Experience with Proxmox or similar virtualization platforms. Experience deploying/maintaining infrastructure on AWS or DigitalOcean.

Programming/Scripting



Working knowledge of at least one: PHP, Python, JavaScript (advantageous). Ability to write scripts or simple applications for automation and monitoring.

Soft Skills



Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Confident communicator; able to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire junior staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work flexible and demanding hours as required by client/project needs.

Other



Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field (or equivalent work experience). Relevant certifications (e.g., dCAP, CCNA/CCNP, AWS, Linux) are an advantage.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
