We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vice President.

Background

The GFX team in GSC is operating within the Organisation of Markets & Security Operations executes Operations process and client service to various entities globally. The team support FX & Money market cash Business performing Confirmations, Settlements and Investigations functions for the corporate, institutional and interbank client base arising out of the GFX cash business.

This is a senior local position which reports locally into the VP GFX & EM Rates Operations and partnering with regional site heads. The role will provide appropriate Senior Leadership to the satellite sites supporting Asia GFX team in Markets Operations.

The key responsibilities are:

Client \xe2\x80\x93 Design and implement delivers a best in class inter bank Client Operations team that provides core execution and client service services. Actively engages to key stakeholders and customers to understand current / future needs and delivers against them. Pro-actively drives a client first culture within GFX Operations teams and implementing a consistent client service experience for inter-bank customers cross asset including CLS & other CCP offerings

GFX Structure / Organisation \xe2\x80\x93 Driving strategic planning on a Regional basis, shaping and driving the GFX Satellite sites operations organisation, ensuring it adheres to the Global Operating Model. Role holder is also required to execute cross border support capabilities for Asia sites including effective follow the sun. Role holder would also be required to extend cover over EM Rates Asia interactions including stakeholder management

Control Framework \xe2\x80\x93 Providing global line of sight of Ops risks and issues for the GFX Satellite sites. Managing business risks and issues. The role also requires the incumbent to partner with Regional GFX managers driving a culture of risk awareness and adherence. By fully embedding the GFX control framework, developing stakeholder engagement and raising the profile of GFX regionally the incumbent will need to significantly drive a positive control culture. To do this the existing training and development agenda will need to be enhanced and delivered, as will the sharing of best practice and standards through appropriate forums. Managerial accountability must be improved as a primary goal as well as general staff knowledge and practice.

People \xe2\x80\x93 the role requires direct management of a team of about 20 FTE in KL. The person in this role will be required to build strong relationships and partner with his / her GFX colleagues across locations. Additionally, they will need to deliver the objectives by developing a stable management structure and a workforce equipped to deliver a best in class operations support. A strong management bench must be developed and clear succession planning delivered. A coherent organisational construct must be delivered in the entire Region with all handoffs clearly understood by management and staff alike.

Driving the 2025 strategy through the GFX operations teams-role requires the incumbent to drive the team through ambiguity to enable delivery of the Market Operations strategy.

  • Maintain HSBC Internal Control Standards including timely escalation and remediation of risks and issues
  • Professionally represent GFX across the business both Regionally and globally through proactive key stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organisation

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

A proven track record of delivery within the GFX Operations pace. The role requires a proactive and articulate individual, comfortable leading a multi-disciplined team, dealing with a broad number of senior management, and able to distil key messages and tailor output to the audience.
  • Knowledge of GFX products and associated operational processes.
  • Excellent understanding of an Operations\xe2\x80\x99 environment within Global Markets.
  • Strong understanding of Corporate client base and their requirements. Excellent track record in developing and executing client centric operations teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
  • Proven client management skills, with the ability to build and develop networks and relationships with both external and internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify areas of control and process weakness.
  • Forward looking outlook in proactively detecting GFX Operations risks.
  • Ability to act impartially, where required, to arbitrate in matters under dispute, build consensus, and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
  • High language proficiency with excellent report writing and presentations skills.
