Overview

The Waitress/Host is responsible for creating a welcoming dining experience by greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring high standards of customer service. This hybrid role supports both hosting and serving duties to maintain smooth restaurant operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesHost Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them upon departure. Manage the waiting list, reservations, and seating chart. Provide accurate wait-time estimates. Escort guests to tables and present menus. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance and host stand.

Waitress / Server Duties

Present menus, explain specials, and answer guest inquiries about food and beverages. Take accurate food and drink orders and input them into the POS system. Serve food and beverages promptly and correctly. Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction. Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when necessary. Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash/credit transactions responsibly. Clear and reset tables efficiently.

General Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold service standards. Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service flow. Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures. Assist in opening and closing duties as assigned. Support other FOH tasks when needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and customer-first mindset. Basic POS knowledge (advantage but not required). Ability to stand for long hours and carry serving trays. Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
