The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching raw materials, packaging materials, frozen items, and finished bakery products. The role ensures proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), cleanliness, and compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Receiving & Inspection
Receive incoming raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and supplies.
Check quantity and condition against delivery order (DO) and purchase order (PO).
Inspect materials for damage, pest contamination, or abnormal conditions.
Record all received items in the system / manual log sheets.
B. Storage & Inventory Management
Arrange and store items in designated areas according to product type (dry, chilled, frozen).
Practice FIFO/FEFO for all materials and finished goods.
Ensure proper labelling, batch numbers, expiry dates, and storage temperatures.
Conduct daily / weekly stock counts and assist in monthly stocktake.
Report low stock levels, discrepancies, or damaged stock immediately.
C. Picking, Issuing & Dispatch
Pick and issue ingredients or materials to Production based on requisition forms.
Assist in loading and unloading goods from vehicles.
Prepare finished goods for delivery, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
Support outbound delivery arrangement with drivers.
D. Housekeeping & Compliance
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organisation according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
Follow food safety, hygiene, and safety protocols.
E. Documentation & System Updates
Update stock cards, inventory system, and log sheets accurately.
File and maintain delivery orders, receiving reports, and requisition forms.
Assist in preparing inventory reports when requested.
3. Requirements
SPM / Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year working experience in warehouse operations; experience in F&B or bakery manufacturing is an advantage.
Physically fit and able to lift goods (up to 20-25 kg).
Able to work in cold room / freezer environment when required.
Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, inventory system).
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to work overtime, weekends, or shifts when required.
4. Skills & Competencies
Good communication and teamwork.
Attention to detail.
Basic understanding of inventory management.
Knowledge of food safety / GMP is a plus.
Ability to operate pallet jacks, stackers, or forklifts (license is an advantage).
5. Working Conditions
Exposure to cold storage (chiller/freezer).
May require early morning or night shift depending on schedule.
