Directly supervises the activities of subordinate employees by making work assignments, checking work and examining finished work for quality and compliance and specifications.
Controls costs through reduction of waste, effective use of labor and housekeeping.
Brings to the attention of management, problems which affect the production / quality of the area for which responsible.
Responsible for assisting manager in day to day shift operations.
Communicates and interacts with other departments to resolve production issues.
Develops employee groups into effective teams focusing on the continual improvement of processes within the facility.
Assures all assignments are done in a timely manner and procedures are followed by all employees.
Used as a resource to resolve technical problems in area of expertise.
Manage and coordinate warehousing activities.
Plans for efficient use of employees by minimizing employee\'s non-productive time.
Provide input on employee evaluation and training needs.
Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees.
May utilize and operate material handling equipment.
Any other responsibility which may be assigned from time to time by Department Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Organization and time management skills are a must.
Able to communicate both written and verbally with management in an effective manner while adhering to company policy and procedures.
Capable of giving written and verbal instructions to warehouse personnel.
Must be able to distinguish between acceptable and non-acceptable parts.
Have the ability to train and indoctrinate new employees in duties and responsibilities, and proper work procedures.
Through understanding of Inventory Supervisor duties.
Strong reading comprehension, mathematical and writing skills.
Use and understand complex programs used for inventory control as well as an attention to detail.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Fork lift certification.
Inspection, sheetmetal assembly, packaging and inventory control experience.
Five years of general working knowledge of materials and inventory control.
