Job Description

The Opportunity:We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity - join us as a Web Senior Developer or Microservices Developer (or both!) to build our web application, serving customers in the Asia Pacific Region.Be part of a team building a new end-to-end Zurich Edge digital insurance platform to enable new distribution models. Insurance offerings on this platform will be specifically designed for high levels of automation and straight through processing across the full insurance value chain.Key Responsibilities:

• Have a deep understanding of business requirements, and how to best build the web application
• Web development: strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript or Typescript, Next.js or ReactJS, Redux, REST/JSON
• Microservices: strong knowledge in Node.JS and/or Nest.JS, PostgeSQL, Redis
• Unit testing (JEST), integration testing and deployments in various environments
• Troubleshooting, debugging & defect analysis
• Interface with other teams for technical details to integrate the web with back-end services
• Build & unit test reusable components and functions
• Familiar with, or carry out, CI/CD processes in AWS (e.g. configuration management, daily automated build, unit testing, etc.)
• Occasional travel may be required

Your skills and experience:

• Web development: experience in Next.js or ReactJS and REST/JSON
• Web development: extensive experience in HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Microservices: experience in Node.JS and/or Nest.JS, Postgresql and Redis
• Prior experience in Financial Services or Insurance highly regarded
• Experience with JEST, JIRA, GitHub, SonarQube is a plus

Skills:

• Problem solving
• Writing secure, reusable and maintainable code
• Write clear documentation
• Experience with MVC and other design patterns
• Passion for new and emerging technologies, and the ability to investigate these in-depth
• Ability to understand business requirements in detail
