Job Description


Key Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Use various welding techniques, including SMAW, TIG, MIG, and ARC welding, to fabricate and repair metal structures, vessels, and equipment according to technical specifications and industry standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding process specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques, materials, and equipment required for each project. \xe2\x80\xa2 Set up welding equipment, including gas cylinders, welding torches, and welding machines, and ensure that all equipment is in good working order. \xe2\x80\xa2 Operate cutting and grinding equipment to prepare materials for welding, and use measuring tools, such as micrometers and gauges, to ensure that all parts are properly aligned and meet dimensional requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and ensuring that all welding work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain accurate records of all welding and fabrication work, including materials used, hours worked, and project status updates. \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related problems and identify opportunities for process improvement. Qualifications and Requirements: \xe2\x80\xa2 High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a welding apprenticeship or technical training program preferred. \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 2 years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in the marine or offshore industry. \xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrated proficiency in SMAW, TIG, MIG, and ARC welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records of welding work and project status updates. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods of time. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve welding-related issues. \xe2\x80\xa2 Seatech Engineering Maintenance Sdn Bhd is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals.
