Welds metal objects together by means of an oxyacetylene torch or arc welder apparatus to fabricate metal shapes or articles or to repair broken or cracked metal objects.
Adheres to all Company Policy & Procedures and Department Procedures.
Brings to the attention of management, problems which affect the production / quality of the area for which responsible.
Completes all assignments in a timely manner and procedures are followed.
Meets production schedules on delivery requirements.
Set up pre-fitted parts for welding. uses hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures.
Work from specifications, drawings, prints or welding symbols.
May perform layout work and cut metal with a cutting torch.
Cycles times for each operation.
Checks work in process for any post fab employee requiring an in-process inspection sign off during the shift.
Assures all items on inventory list are logged in.
Diploma and above
At least two (2) years in welding steel and aluminum structures.
Understand basic English Communication - to understand MPI & Check Sheet.
Must have knowledge in TIG and MIG welding.
Able to read and understand drawing & welding symbol is an added advantage.
Possess knowledge of problem solving related to welding - such as perform rework.
Demonstrate good hand and eye coordination.
Understand specific work order flow.
Work in a shop environment with a medium level noise and metal dust particles.al dust particles.
