Job Description

Responsible for ensuring all welding and fabrication activities within the HEX Fabrication Department comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The Welding QC Inspector will conduct in-process and final weld inspections, verify WPS compliance, support NDT coordination, and maintain accurate inspection documentation to ensure every unit meets internal and customer quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



Perform visual weld inspections during and after fabrication in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and WPS requirements. Verify welder qualifications, welding parameters, and filler materials are in accordance with approved procedures. Review fabrication drawings, weld maps, and inspection checklists to ensure completeness and accuracy. Coordinate with production supervisors and technicians on repair, rework, or corrective actions when defects are identified. Support the preparation and maintenance of inspection and test records (ITR), weld logs, and traceability documents. Coordinate and witness non-destructive testing (NDT) activities (e.g., dye penetrant, radiographic, or hydrostatic tests) when required. Participate in quality audits, process qualifications, and continuous improvement programs. Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Maintain calibration and status of inspection tools and measuring equipment. Report inspection findings and quality deviations promptly to the supervisor or HOD. This role requires attention to detail, technical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining production quality and efficiency.

Job Requirements ;



Certification or

Diploma in Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or Fabrication Technology

from a recognized institution.

CSWIP 3.0 / 3.1, PCN

, or equivalent welding inspection certification is a strong advantage.

Minimum 2 years

' experience in welding quality control within heat exchanger, pressure vessel, or precision fabrication environment.

Proven exposure to visual inspection, NDT coordination, and weld documentation processes. Experience supporting ISO or internal audit programs is an advantage.
Strong practical knowledge of TIG welding (especially stainless steel).

Familiarity with tube fitting, cutting, and HEX assembly processes. Proficient in visual inspection techniques, weld defect identification, and dimensional measurement. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, WPS, PQR, and fabrication schematics. Understanding of safety practices in welding and fabrication environments. Good communication and reporting skills with high attention to detail. Computer literacy; ability to use MS Office and digital inspection forms.
