Job Description


The Whole School Performing Arts Coordinators is an expert in the field of music, drama and dance education and whose role is to ensure that the Performing Arts Program in Destiny International School is conducted in accordance with the Cambridge curriculum and international school standards. The Whole School Performing Arts Coordinator plays a key role in making the performing arts programmes successful. He/she is responsible for driving the programme, and ensuring it is integrated into the wider practice of the school. The Whole School Performing Arts Coordinators is a member of the school\xe2\x80\x99s senior leadership team, and will be accountable to the Principal. He/she will influence the thinking and practice of colleagues and other stakeholders across the school community.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Lead Performing Arts (music, drama, dance) initiatives following consultation and agreement with the Head of Academics and Head of Student Affairs.
  • Developing a creative learning community across the school to have knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm for performing arts teaching and learning as a key to raising achievement, aspiration and motivation.
  • To establish a Creative Partnerships programme plan on an annual basis, linked to the School Development Framework self-assessment process Programme and project management
  • To facilitate the long-term development of performing arts in teaching and learning at a structural and systemic level, using the School Development Framework and other resources.
  • Facilitating Mentor Teacher cohort meetings.
Education, Training and Qualifications
  • Appropriate degree, with PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS.
  • Working knowledge of the Cambridge Curriculum.
  • Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development and performing arts qualification.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 teaching experience.
  • Be aware and up to date in all relevant safeguarding polices and practice for international schools
  • Knowledge and experience of how to use of ICT effectively in promoting student learning.
  • Knowledge and experience of how to plan and develop an effective whole school performing arts curriculum.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of working with students for whom English is not their first language.

  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check (for applicants who have never worked in UK) and no question regarding suitability to work with children.
