Scope of Work / Duties of Wireman Grade 1

A Wireman G1 in a Solar EPC company would typically be responsible for:

Electrical Wiring Installations -

Install wiring in solar system components that use single-phase and three-phase supply (e.g. inverter connections, switchgear, auxiliary loads).

Supervision & Inspection -

Oversee wiring works carried out by Grade 2 wiremen or assistants. Ensure wiring complies with standards (voltage, safety, conduit, cable sizes, protections).

Testing & Commissioning -

Perform tests on wiring installations (insulation, continuity, earth-fault, overcurrent protection). Ensure correct termination of cables, safe isolation, checking of wiring diagrams.

Regulatory Compliance & Certificates -

Must know and apply the Electricity Ordinance & Electricity Rules (Sarawak) / EOER exam knowledge. Work under the scope defined by EIU for Low-voltage Installations.

Safety & First Aid -

Must have valid First Aid Certificate. Apply safety procedures, safe isolation before working live, use protective gear.

Log Book & Practical Experience -

Maintain log book of practical wiring works (both during training and on-the-job) to demonstrate competence.
Requirements:

Age -

Minimum 18 years old.

Experience -

Practical experience in wiring works (single and three phase) including works done under supervision; required during course as part of full-time or part-time training.

Course & Examination -

Attend an accredited training centre; pass theory, practical, and EOER (Electricity Ordinance & Electricity Rules) exams.

First Aid Certificate -

Valid first aid training
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
