Job Description


POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the Cost Accounting & Inventory of our Malaysia operations and report to the Finance Manager in Malaysia.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure inventory accuracy, identifying control weaknesses in daily inventory processes starting from Placing PO, Receiving, Put Away, Kitting, Scrap, FG, Completion and Shipping.

  • Driving MRB Inventory Review
  • Review of the different Inventory related processes and identify rooms for Improvements and driving corrective actions. This should include but not limited to the following:
o ICPO Process

o Receiving and Put Away

o Kitting Process

o Scrap Process

o WIP Issuance and FG Completion * Support inventory control such as cycle count and annual physical inventory count.
  • Partnering with operations, product groups, planning, Inventory team and logistics on inventory management, planning, procurement, and cost optimization.
  • Support on Global inventory related reporting and analysis.
  • Review half-yearly Standard Cost update to revalue the inventory impact.
  • Setting standard costs in the system which include planning, studying and collecting data to determine the standards/rates, perform analysis of standard costing and maintenance of standard cost system for plant operation.
  • Support all financial initiatives to drive growth and compliance from time to time.
  • Responsible for prompt and accurate recording of inventory related activities such as E&O analysis, scrap analysis, write-off, inventory revaluation, month-end close process to be consistent with corporate policies, GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to improve cost savings or process improvements, or any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and record GL journal entries.
  • Accounts reconciliation and analysis.
  • Involved in S4Hana on Inventory related.
  • Maintain sound documentation system to support audit requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors & tax agent and support on inventory queries
  • Responsible for procedures and policies for cost accounting and inventory.
  • Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, fax machine etc.).
  • Need responsible to respond to emergency finance-related situations.
  • Works under limited supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to perform accounts reconciliation.

  • Strong team-player with experience working in a dynamic organization and demonstrated ability to build bridges between stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate agility and flexibility to maneuver ad hoc tasks/projects/challenges.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite at moderate to high-level of proficiency.
  • Fluency in English & Malay.
EXPERIENCE:

Essential:
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience in Inventory areas in multi-national corporation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess knowledge of SOX, US GAAP and Malaysia FRS.
Desirable:
  • Previous financial accounting / compliance experience in a high tech or global company.
  • Prio experience with an Integrated ERP System - SAP preferred.
EDUCATION:

Essential:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting.
Desirable:
  • CIMA / ACCA / CPA or similar designation.
  • MBA is a plus.
OTHERS:
Applicants must be willing to work in Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat.
