Accounting Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant will support the finance department in managing cost reporting, product costing, inventory reconciliation, and financial record accuracy. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost reports for management review.
  • Generate product costing and sectional cost reports.
  • Assist in inventory count and reconciliation activities.
  • Perform cost analysis and prepare related reports.
  • Support month-end closing activities and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial accounting systems.
  • Monitor fixed asset movements and assist in preparing related journal entries.
  • Produce monthly departmental expense reports and cost analysis.
Job Duties:
  • Verify posted invoices and payments, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with planned expenditures.
  • Provide operational support to the Accounting Manager.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
