This position requires strong US GAAP accounting knowledge, management skills, and the ability to understand the big picture while being detail-oriented.What you\'ll do:As an Accounting Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our client\'s rapidly growing organisation. You will be entrusted with overseeing the finance team across various areas including financial statement preparation, general ledger management, cost accounting, fixed assets management, accounts receivable/payable handling, budgeting and tax compliance. Your leadership will ensure that procedures, accounting systems and controls are aligned with local reporting requirements and corporate policies. You will also have the opportunity to enhance enterprise resource planning system implementation and other strategic initiatives.

  • Partner with leadership team to formulate strategies towards long term financial health and expense optimisation
  • Oversee finance team in all areas such as financial statement preparation, general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting as well as tax compliance
  • Provide leadership, direction, training and support to ensure procedures, accounting systems and controls align with local reporting requirements and corporate policies
  • Coordinate execution of all monthly and quarterly financial statement close processes in accordance with US GAAP as well as local GAAP
  • Collaborate with external auditors to manage quarterly review and audit process ensuring timely completion
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls for compliance with US GAAP
  • Set up Shared Service Team for smooth delivery of Financial Accounting Services (GL, AP, FA etc) supporting multiple nations
  • Play leading role in enhancing enterprise resource planning system implementation and other strategic initiatives
  • Support implementation of key internal controls over financial reporting designed in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations
What you bring:The ideal Accounting Director will bring a wealth of experience, with at least 15 years in a related role and a US CPA or Malaysia CPA qualification. You will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in US GAAP and Malaysia-GAAP. Your experience within the technology industry and U.S. publicly traded companies will be highly valued. Your strong interpersonal, written and communication skills will enable you to effectively lead your team and collaborate with others. Your impeccable analytical and organisational skills will ensure your success in this role.
  • 15+ years related experience with US CPA or Malaysia CPA as a plus
  • Experience within technology industry and U.S. publicly traded companies preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in US GAAP and Malaysia-GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems and system implementation
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Impeccable analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Team builder, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
