Job Description

We are a reputable company specializing in adult training and funded workshops in Singapore seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Payable Executive to join our finance team based in Kuala Lumpur. As the Junior Accounts Payable Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing and ensuring the accuracy of our accounts payable process. This includes processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts and grants, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery receipts to ensure proper documentation and approval.
  • Prepare and perform regular check runs, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
  • Reconcile vendor statements with outstanding balances, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and resolve invoice-related issues.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and records, both electronically and physically.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing accruals and other necessary reports.
  • Generate and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors, responding to inquiries and resolving payment-related issues.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of accounts payable systems and processes.
  • Support the finance team in ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field. A degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive and eager to learn, with a positive attitude and a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and standards is a plus.
