Job Description


  • Possess a minimum qualification of Diploma / Degree in Accounting or its equivalent
  • Has at least 3-5 years of working experience in Accounting
  • Relevant work experience in Automotive industry / Retail & Distribution sector is an added advantage
  • Able to communicate well in English, Malay and Mandarin to liaise with stakeholders
  • Seeking a candidate that can work independently, be a team player and a multi-tasker
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8.45am to 5.45pm
  • Work Location: Penang Island (Sungai Pinang). Also available in Kuala Lumpur (Chan Sow Lin)

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Journal entries relating to accruals, adjustment, reclassification, and relevant supporting information
  • Prepare profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, perform analytical review, trend analysis, branch/ division checks and transaction posting checks
  • Reconcile bank statements, perform intercompany and accounts reconciliations, highlight issues/concerns and follow up on reconciling items or outstanding matters
  • Prepare monthly Customer Aging Reports for branch/division managers
  • Process vendor and intercompany invoices, debit notes, credit notes, staff claims and petty cash reimbursements
  • Prepare monthly Vendor Aging Reports for headquarters/Finance Team
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all control requirements are met on a timely basis
  • Prepare and consolidate (if required) month-end & year-end, financial reports for branch & headquarters
  • Provide accurate commentary on significant movements in the overall reporting submissions
  • Complete bi-monthly and yearly indirect taxes (eg, SST), corporate taxation, deferred taxation and tax reconciliations reports are prepared & submitted to authority on time
  • Prepare statutory financial statements timely and ensure compliance to legal and statutory requirements, liaise with Branch, HQ, internal and external auditors.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing steps in accordance with the established work instructions and checklist
  • Co-ordinate month-end and year-end closing activities with accounts team from other branches, headquarters and finance team
  • Perform all accounting activities and tasks following predefined processes, service management framework and established processes, procedures, policies, legal and statutory requirements
  • Participate in ad hoc reporting and analysis projects
